Hybridized Exclusively by Jackson & Perkins

Finding a yellow-flowered hedge or shrub rose is not easy, especially with a compact habit and pleasant tea rose scent. That's what makes Yellow Simplicity Hedge Rose such a treasure for the sunny garden. This high performer deserves a central place in your landscape.

Yellow Simplicity Hedge Rose is a reblooming powerhouse, beginning the season with huge clusters of 3-inch blooms boasting about 18 petals each and redolent of grandmother's old roses. They open all over this shrub, which reaches 4 to 5 feet high and 2 to 3 feet wide. After the first, heaviest bloom flushes, Yellow Simplicity Hedge Rose repeats all summer.

A bit more compact than the original (pink) Yellow Simplicity Hedge Rose, this yellow-flowered variety is also more floriferous. You will seldom find Yellow Simplicity Hedge Rose out of bloom, and the clusters are large, colorful, and fragrant.

The Yellow Simplicity Hedge Rose introduced a whole new concept to American rose gardeners: the use of dense, well-branched shrubs as hedges and living walls of color. Selected for their abundant, healthy foliage as well as bold blooms and frequent rebloom, the Simplicity roses are among the lowest maintenance you can grow. And many, like Yellow, have gorgeous flowers. Forget the hardscaping and create living architecture in your landscape with these easy-care, beautiful shrubs.

Hardy Rose

Although it was a very small and struggling plant when we received it, this little rose plant has a strong will to survive. For 2 years, it remained a very tiny, barely visible plant with two leaves. But despite long, hot Oklahoma summers with several 100° plus days followed by cold winters with ice storms, it managed to survive and come back stronger. This is its third summer, and we have now relocated to Alabama. We transplanted it from the ground to a pot and brought it with us. It is now a foot tall and very healthy with several pretty blooms. We are looking forward to its future growth and beauty along our fence line. I am partial to it because of its great endurance to survive the harsh elements and become a plant of beauty.

Last fall, my roses arrived and were looking worse for wear when I opened the box. Quite a few yellow and dry green leaves. I planted them and hoped for the best. They survived and their yellow blossoms are lovely. However the leaves on one are showing signs of rose mosaic virus, which spread solely by propagation. I’ve ordered from JP for years and I'm disappointed.

Yellow Simplicity Rose

The rose arrived with a few yellow leaves remaining on the plant, many green and yellow leaves in the box. I soaked and planted it anyway so now we will see. Certainly I was disappointed to see the sorry state it was in when I opened the box.
