Cherry Float was selected from tens of thousands of seedlings and over 8 years of research and development using the most modern genetics with a focus on heavy bloom production, lush foliage, and disease resistance.
A large climbing rose, neither subtle nor shy, Cherry Float makes a bold statement in the garden, its strong, arching canes reaching 10 to 12 feet tall. It grows vigorously and flowers heavily in medium-sized clusters of 2- to 4-inch, velvety red semidouble blooms with 10 to 15 petals and a moderate tea fragrance. The flowers "pop" against glossy, dark green foliage; repeat throughout the season, from late spring to late fall; and make lovely cuts for bouquets.
Cherry Float is disease resistant, so it's a good option for beginners. Climbing roses are underutilized in the garden. They are incredibly versatile and multi-functional, and of all the roses, climbers can have the most dramatic effect. These roses can be grown on trellises, poles, arches, and pillars; trained along fences or walls; or allowed to fountain on their own. And there's nothing quite as lovely as a rose-covered wall or pergola or even a climber allowed to stand freely, its blooming branches arching elegantly to the ground.
