Description

2016 Floribunda of the Year®

Stunning en masse or by themselves, these blooms really shine over the very glossy foliage.

Floribunda of the Year® 2016. Sriracha® has taken the culinary world by storm. Its sweet and spicy flavor is being featured on seemingly every menu throughout the country right now. This fabulous floribunda is just as spicy and sweet as its namesake, and we have faith that it will become just as popular!

A child of Habitat for Humanity '03, Sriracha® is an impressive bloomer, offering clusters of 5 to 9 blooms, each fully double and up to four inches wide. The abundance of big, copper orange to coral blooms makes this a great choice for either mass plantings or solo plantings. Turn your perennial border into a coral reef with a whole row, or just splash the lovely orange tone in amongst your pink, red, and yellow roses to complete the look!

Sriracha® has a great resistance to a variety of diseases, and good cold hardiness. Bred by Jackson and Perkins, this high-performing rose also offers handsome foliage all season long.

Through the growing and blooming season (late spring to early fall), keep your rose well-fed by adding fertilizer every 4 to 6 weeks. Deadhead spent blooms to keep the rose tidy and encourage rebloom. Stop feeding in the fall to allow the plant to go into dormancy, and let the last wave of blooms develop rose hips. In colder USDA zones your rose might require winter protection - after the first freeze, pile about 6 inches of soil over the roses' crown, then some straw or mulch on top of that. Remove the material as temperatures warm up in the spring. During early spring you should also prune out any weak or diseased canes and cut remaining canes down by one third to one half. Take proper care of this floribunda and it will reward you with abundant blooms for years! Zones 5 to 10.
