This standard form rose offers a strong central "trunk" topped with Mandarin Sunset, an exclusive Jackson & Perkins floribunda rose, giving the plant the appearance of a small tree. This tree rose blooms heavily in late spring and typically flushes through fall, often to first frost. Pointed, ovoid buds are borne in small clusters and spiral open into showy, 3-inch double blooms with 15 to 27 vibrant orange petals surrounding a yellow eye. The blooms have a slight tea scent and make gorgeous cut flowers.
Versatile in the garden or landscape, Mandarin Sunset tree rose makes an elegant focal point or vertical accent to flank an entry or accentuate a walkway. The elevated crown of this tree lends itself to a tiered planting with sun-loving annuals and perennials in a mixed containeron porches, patios, and balconies.
The standard is grafted at 36 inches, with the Mandarin Sunset growth beginning at that point, so the full height of the tree will be taller at maturity. Always stake your tree rose, whether in the landscape or container, and select a large pot, the bigger the better.
