Description
Just when the summer garden is fading, it bursts into bloom

Foliage dies down weeks before the blooms appear.

Magic Lily's astonishing enchantment comes from its dramatic rebirth in late summer. In early spring, the plants emerge with shiny green leaves that provide a beautiful base to a sun-filled garden. As they die back in early summer, other summer-blooming plants take over and make themselves known. Then, in late summer, the trumpet-like rosy blooms of the Magic Lily magically appear out of nowhere on long, clean stalks to dress up your garden all over again.

The Magic Lily hides another secret. It's not a lily; it's actually an amaryllis. It has been referred to as a Hurricane Lily because it tends to flower after drenching storms.

Plant the bulbs in full sun and don't let the soil puddle with moisture and your flowers will bloom in abundance. One of the other magical aspects of this plant is that it only begins to bloom in the second year after planting. That means just when you've forgotten about it, it will remind you with its 2- to 3-inch pink blooms with juicy golden throats.

Disappointed
This shopper rated the product 1 out of 5 stars

I was so disappointed upon receiving my order. I thought I had purchased 3 dozen bulbs, but, oh no, 3 bulbs for $25, per bulb! Really?

Naked Ladies/ Surprise lilies/ species of amaryllis.
This shopper rated the product 5 out of 5 stars

3rd generation Gardener , My Oma and her friends all planted these Naked Ladies, aka surprise lilies. In the 1930s to 1940s all over their properties in the Ojai valley, California. Today with Zero maintenance or even knowledge of their presence the blooms have once again sprung up out of seemingly nowhere in a unique Clean Burst of Elegant pink bundles on sleek naked stalks. People all over our town are noticing and asking or commenting on facebook and the nextdoor app about them. I have So enjoyed my annual Legacy Hello from my Grandmother and her dearly departed friends. Their gardening Passions still enjoyed by all 3 generations later. Yes The bulbs Are All across our valley under giant oak trees, along roadsides next to rock walls and borders to rose beds, Invisible, then a Beautiful dark green burst of long curved over leaves come out as a nice border for a few months and gather up sun light energy then disappear. Then suddenly a month later the Beautiful surprise lily , the Long sleek Naked stalks shoot up out of nowhere and burst at the top with the Beautiful pink ladies amaryllis flower. Our town's bulbs are over 75 years Old. We have never touched them since my Oma planted them. A Treasured Legacy.
