Delicious Color and Diminutive Size Offer Multiple Options!
Only 4 feet in height, Fiji™ Hybrid Tea Rose stands tall in stature in the Rose world! Blessed with robust, cherry pink blooms that completely cover its light-green, glossy foliage, this 2012 introduction is conveniently versatile, capable of a spot in the front of your garden or in a pot on the patio, easily accessible for cutflowers!
The cherry-pink color of the flowers and the remarkable vigor, make Fiji™ one of the hottest easy-care shrubs in recent years. An Eleganza® Rose, it combines the classic Hybrid Tea blooms with modern disease resistance. Like its family members, it is extremely resistant to blackspot and mildew, two of the biggest threats to Hybrid Teas.
With 4-inch blooms formed by crenate petals in a dazzling shade of pink, Fiji™ blooms pop up in clusters, leaving the glossy, green foliage under a blanket of carmine, mildly fragrant flowers. The short stems somehow manage to handle the weight of the large blooms, keeping them pointing upward.
Prune in spring, removing old canes and dead or damaged wood and cutting back canes that cross each other. In warmer climates, the remaining canes can be cut back by one third. You'll probably have to prune a bit more in colder climates, where it will also benefit from winter protection. Apply a controlled release fertilizer in early spring. Plant in moist, well-drained soil in full sun.The rich cherry color and the versatility offered by the small flower-packed shrub make Fiji™ a great addition for a variety of roles!
