A Proven Winners® ColorChoice® Flowering Shrubs variety, and member of the Sonic Bloom series, Weigela Sonic Bloom® Punch is a deciduous shrub offering spring through fall interest, blooming late spring to early summer with a second bloom in the fall. This dense and bushy plant is free flowering, setting tubular punch-pink blooms that virtually obscure the beautiful bronzed foliage and attract pollinators to the garden, including bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds.
An excellent landscape plant, Sonic Bloom Punch has a rapid growth rate and a freely branching, compact, upright, and mounded habit. It is a fabulous specimen in garden or container but is shown to best effect when grouped or massed and is especially nice in the front of mixed beds and borders.
Cold hardy to Zone 4 and easy to grow, weigela grows best in sunny locations with moderately fertile, moist, well-draining soil but tolerates clay soil. Deer resistant.
