Summer Nights Hybrid Tea Rose

Bareroot Grafted
Item #31146

Jackson & Perkins 2012 Rose of the Year

Quick to become a favorite of rose aficionados, Jackson & Perkins 2012 Rose of the Year radiates soothing emotions, evoking memories of glorious summer sunsets.

Bearing stunning yellow petals with soft pink tints deepening toward the edges, the flowers unfurl in spirals to a stunning 5 inches across, set off dramatically by rich, dark green leaves. The moderate licorice fragrance adds an air of healthy distinction.

Reaching to 5 feet high and as wide as 4 feet, the hybrid is great in the garden and ideal for patio containers. Highly versatile, it's great in beds and borders, too.

Pruning to half height or 18 inches off the ground and the removal of old canes and dead wood in the spring will help the hybrid thrive. Canes that cross should be severed. The remaining canes should be cut one-third—more trimming is needed in colder climates. With the proper minimal care, Summer Nights will be a year-round showpiece.

I waited to do this review until after the first bloom. While there is little fragrance the single first is very pretty. It's a little deformed but I'm hoping as the plant gets larger it will be an eye catcher.

Summer Nights Hybrid Tea Rose

This shopper rated the product 5 out of 5 stars

I bought this rosebush last season and planted it on my back deck. The blooms are beautifully formed and unfold differently with each new day. I find myself mesmerized by the colors every time I look out on my deck. The blossoms truly are like an exquisite sunset and I can't help but walk by and look at them throughout the day. Orange, pink and yellow hues take on a different form with each blossom. I'm thoroughly delighted with this rose bush and would recommend it if you like something vibrant and eye catching!
