Often mistaken for a rhododendron, the Mountain Laurel is a fast growing and acid loving plant that produces spectacular star shaped flower buds. The Mountain Laurel is Pennsylvania's state flower and native to the eastern part of North America. In a typical garden setting the mature height and width of most cultivars is 5’-8 feet however in their native habitat these shrubs grow 12-25 feet tall.
