Description
Everchanging Color on a Free-Flowering Climber

For a bright spot in your plantings, Rosa Joseph's Coat climbing rose has no equal. This Rose seems to change colors daily over its long bloom season, giving you a sunset of rich hues you'll never get tired of admiring.

Rosa Joseph's Coat climbing rose has pretty cardinal-red buds open to 4-inch marigold-orange blooms that in turn change to bright yellow with a touch of crimson before maturing to cardinal-red again. All colors are present at one time on plants that can reach up to 12 feet tall and 4 feet wide, their sturdy canes studded with sharp thorns to discourage pests. And Rosa Joseph's Coat climbing rose boasts a blanket of glossy, dark green leaves that keep Rosa Joseph's Coat climbing rose looking great even when out of bloom. Mass plantings on a fence or pillar are particularly effective, allowing you to enjoy a panorama of color all season long, from late spring to early fall.

Rosa Joseph's Coat climbing rose was introduced in the United States by Armstrong and Swim. It was bred from R. Buccaneer x R. Circus, and boasts a petal count of up to 28. Mildly fragrant, Rosa Joseph's Coat climbing rose is a source of ever-changing color for any vertical space.

Blooms are full and lightly fragrant. I love it, but it seems to grow slowly.

On March 28 I placed an online order for 2 JC climbing roses and some rose fertilizer. I paid for expedited shipping. They were in stock and so when, a few days later (March 31) I received a box with fertilizer in it and no roses, I was stunned. I called customer service and said I did not pay expedited shipping for fertilizer. Where are the roses? I was told they were in stock and ready to ship. Their official shipping calendar says that bare root roses are scheduled for early to mid March for my zone 7. Container planted roses are scheduled for mid to late April. When I inquired on April 15 the email said “We show plants/roses to Idaho are expected to begin shipping mid April. That is to say that you will receive tracking information in the following days.” They must be going to send a containerized plant! When I inquired on May 2 the reply was “We are getting your order prepared for shipment the roses are taking a bit longer to ship. They should ship this week. “ Next inquiry on May 7 was met with “We are sorry for the delay. We are getting your order prepared for shipment the roses are taking a bit longer to ship. They should ship this week.” On May 12, I finally got a shipping notice. The roses came with a “Late Season Guide for Planting Bare Root Roses.” No kidding Sherlock! The roses were bare root, dry with one of the three stems on one was dead brown. The other rose only had 2 stems and after 2 weeks of care, there's no evidence that they are going to sprout.
