Hydrangea Incrediball® Smooth Hydrangea

Description

Improved Stems Don't Flop | Cold Hardy Native Flowering Shrub

What you see is what you get with the incredible display of Incrediball® Smooth Hydrangea: flawlessly rounded blooms over a foot long that open pale green to cream and mature white. A Proven Winners® Color Choice® Flowering Shrubs variety, this stunning member of the Hydrangea genus is indisputably the largest flowered mophead you will ever find. Each mophead grows almost as large as a beachball.

Like many great inventions of our time, this series arose by accident. Incrediball originated as part of a breeding program to improve stem strength, but no one imagined the blooms would emerge in such towering effects. Nevertheless, anyone who chooses to add these to their garden will be glad they did.

The blooms appear on new wood, starting first during the warm summer months and typically continuing well into autumn. You can use these beauties for either fresh or dried arrangements because they have staying power for months indoors.

Incrediball Smooth Hydrangea grows four to five feet tall in full sun or partial shade. Water it regularly to get the best blooms. These flowers are eager to bloom and very easy to grow for a border or hedge.

A native plant, Incrediball is indigenous to North America. Native plants are not only beautiful but also environmentally friendly. Naturally adapted to the climate and soil conditions of the region, they thrive without fertilizers or extra watering, once established. They also act as natural pest controls, reducing the need for pesticides in the garden. Landscaping with native plants promotes biodiversity and provides shelter and quality food for wildlife and pollinators, bringing gardens to life.

Looks Good!

I purchased this hydrangea 18 months ago and planted in the Fall. I planted next to my front door. It gets West- Northwest sun exposure. The first year it did not bloom. It bloom this Summer. It has 8 nice sized blooms, though none are basketball sized. The lime green to white coloring is very pretty. The plant is at least 4 feet tall. We recently had a heavy rain storm with high winds and the stem did droop, but none broke. The stems recovered in 24 hours. I am keeping an eye out to see how long the flowers last. I would recommend this plant.
