A Proven Winners® ColorChoice® Flowering Shrubs variety, Fairytrail Fresco™ is a unique cascading hydrangea that grows to a compact size of about 3 to 4 feet high and 4 to 5 feet wide, ideal for smaller garden spaces. One of the earliest hydrangeas to bloom, it flowers from late spring to early summer, setting buds at each leaf node. This produces an abundant, garland-like display of large mophead blooms that shift color based on soil pH: alkaline soils yield pink flowers, while acidic soils create blue blooms. These colorful, trailing stems make beautiful additions to bouquets and dried arrangements, and its lush green foliage turns a lovely red in fall, extending the shrub's season of interest.
A versatile Hydrangea hybrid, commonly called cascade hydrangea, Fairytrail Fresco is a beautiful choice as a specimen in containers or garden beds, while mass plantings showcase its full effect as a foundation plant.
Easy to grow and low-maintenance, Fairytrail Fresco thrives in partly sunny to shady locations with moist, well-drained soil. It tolerates clay soil and warmer temperatures, making it adaptable to a wide range of garden conditions, even while maintaining its colorful, cascading appeal.
