Hibiscus Summerific® 'Candy Crush' Rose Mallow offers an abundance of bubblegum pink blooms, each 8 inches across and centered with a dark red eye. From midsummer to late summer the flowers cover the plant, set off by fresh, bright green leaves. Its upright, columnar form grows quickly to about 4.5 feet tall and 4.5 feet wide.
This perennial hibiscus lends polish to borders and works beautifully as a focal point, and it is well suited to bog and rain gardens. Achillea, Hemerocallis, Kniphofia, Pennisetum, and Sedum make refined companions, extending the display with complementary color and texture. Bees and butterflies are drawn to the blooms, and deer resistance adds to its appeal. 'Candy Crush' is a member of the Proven Winners® Summerific® collection.
Plant in full sun to part shade and provide average, consistent moisture. Moist, well drained, acidic soil is ideal, yet rose mallow adapts to soils from poor to fertile. Hardy in Zones 4 to 9, it emerges late in spring; cut stems back before new growth begins. A columnar silhouette covered in dark eyed pink flowers gives 'Candy Crush' a graceful, abundant presence in the summer garden.
