Description
The Fragrance Lover's Favorite!

The hotter the climate, the darker the blooms!

Heliotrope 'Iowa' is the type of flower that cheers up windowsills and lends a charming "cottage by the sea" effect to fences and walkways. It fills any container with thick clusters of blooms that exude a fresh vanilla scent. Iowa's blossoms get darker as the weather gets cooler, so you might get to see your delicate lavender flowers deepen to a glorious indigo. This classic annual flourishes indoors or outdoors -- in baskets, pots, garden beds, etc.! It grows 10-15 inches in both directions. Heliotrope 'Iowa' is fuss-free, easy to tend, and will refresh any area with its vivid color and delicious fragrance.

Care for them when they 1st arrive!
This shopper rated the product 5 out of 5 stars

These need a little TLC when you get them - do NOT put them outside until you've given them a little light in a shaded area. They can be planted in a 6-7" pot or even better in the yard in half-day [morning] sun. I plant mine in a pot because I can keep them inside and bring them back out each year. They look great after a little wake up in the spring and since this is actually a tender shrub (handles 45 degree weather in Chicago burbs) it gets woody and is really a great houseplant and old cottage garden plant. You won't regret buying!
