A very popular shrub rose, Golden Zest was bred by Jackson & Perkins in 2004 and is being released from the J&P vault as a member of the exclusive Jackson & Perkins Heritage Collection. Golden Zest flowers heavily in continuous waves over a long season, from late spring to late fall. Borne singly or in small clusters, the 4-inch old-fashioned quartered double blooms are cupped to flat and have 120 golden yellow petals and a strong anise fragrance. The sturdy stems are suitable for cut flower displays.
Golden Zest is a medium-sized shrub with a bushy habit. Easy to grow, Golden Zest is a good choice for beginners. Use shrub roses in mixed beds, hedges, borders, and containers.
