All-America Rose Selections (AARS) Winner 1969
A Jackson & Perkins Vault Rose, Gene Boerner was bred by J&P in 1966 and won an AARS award in 1969. Gene Boerner is a floribunda rose that blooms in flushes throughout the season, usually from late spring to late fall. Borne in clusters, the 3-inch, high-centered flowers present 35 pretty medium-pink petals and offer just a whiff of fragrance. Excellent cut flowers, they are lovely additions to mixed floral arrangements, and just one snip makes a beautiful monofloral bouquet.
Gene Boerner is a medium-sized bush with vigorous growth and an upright habit of medium green and glossy leaves. Typically growing to a mature height of 4 feet, with a spread of 3 feet, this floribunda rose is suitable for a large container. But it is also a great bush for beds, borders, foundations, and low hedges.
The Vault Collection includes popular roses that have enchanted gardeners for decades. Roses released from the vault are chosen, in part, because they represent the sentimental value and historical significance of cherished favorite roses that connect gardeners to the rich legacy of Jackson & Perkins.
