Gaillardia Spintop® Mariachi Red Blanket Flower

Spintop® Mariachi Red Blanket Flower produces an extended display of warm red blooms accented by golden yellow centers from early summer through late fall. The petals form distinctive trumpet shapes around the flower center, while mature blooms develop additional petals for a semi double appearance. Its vivid coloring and long flowering season create a striking focal point in sunny borders and pollinator gardens.

This compact perennial forms a tidy 12 inch by 18 inch mound with flowers held just above the foliage for a polished appearance. Bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds are drawn to the nectar rich blooms throughout the season. Use it in borders, containers, mass plantings, cutting gardens, and small space landscapes. The warm flower colors pair beautifully with roses, salvias, echinacea, coreopsis, and ornamental grasses.

Hardy in Zones 3 through 9, Mariachi Red thrives in full sun and well drained soils, including sandy conditions. Once established, it demonstrates excellent drought and heat tolerance while requiring little maintenance. Deadheading spent blooms encourages continued flowering. Easy care, cold hardy, and highly adaptable, this blanket flower provides dependable color throughout the hottest months of the year.
