Description

Hardy to Zone 4 | Free Flowering & Long Blooming

Echinacea Double Scoop™ Cranberry is a free-flowering, long-blooming, showy perennial offering early to late summer interest, with sporadic bloom into fall. A rare color for an echinacea, warm cranberry hues saturate the double pompoms. Long lasting, the blooms hold their color as they age.

Borne singly on short, exceptionally stocky stems, the faintly fragrant flowers are firmly held upright, making excellent cut flowers. In the garden, Echinacea Double Scoop™ Cranberry attracts butterflies and bees; and the dried end-of-season seed heads provide food for songbirds and add garden interest as well, especially when dusted in freshly fallen snow.

This herbaceous plant, also known as a coneflower, has an upright, clumping habit of clean, dark green leaves and a consistent, vigorous growth rate. Its superior branching means more flower buds, more flowers, and a longer duration of blooms. Deadheading is not required but will promote even more blooms.

Easy to grow, Echinacea Double Scoop™ Cranberry prefers full sun and average to fertile, well-drained soil. It tolerates poor soils, but good drainage is essential. It is deer resistant and drought and heat tolerant. Cold hardy, it overwinters well. Consider planting in large groups in beds and borders or singly as a specimen in a patio pot.
