Description
Dianthus Everlast™ Violet Blue Brings Vivid Double Flowers Over Gray Green Foliage

Dianthus Everlast™ Violet Blue offers bright double blooms in a vivid violet blue, held above a refined mound of gray green foliage. Flowering begins in May and continues through July, followed by a welcome rebloom in August that carries interest into late summer and fall. The plant forms a neat mound about 12 inches tall and 14 inches wide.

This elegant dianthus is a natural for containers, mass plantings, perennial borders, and rock gardens, and it frames pathways and entrances with polished color. The blooms attract butterflies, hummingbirds, and other pollinators, enriching wildlife gardens. Deer resistant and free of significant pests and diseases, it offers dependable beauty with little effort.

Plant in full sun to part sun in well drained soil; sandy, alkaline conditions suit it best. Keep moisture average, watering regularly as roots establish. Hardy in Zones 4 to 9, it requires little maintenance. Deadhead for another flush of flowers, divide every 2 to 3 years in spring or fall, trim away dead foliage in early spring, and shear by one third before winter dormancy. A summer of double blooms and a late season encore distinguish Everlast™ Violet Blue.
