Crescendo® Hybrid Tea Rose

Description
Jackson & Perkins Rose of the Year 2011

Portland's Best Rose Gold Medal 2019

Crescendo was developed from a stellar pedigree of two award-winning hybrids: Gemini, a best-selling AARS winner and ARS member's choice rose, and the incredibly aromatic rose, New Zealand. The strong spicy fragrance and large, dark green, super glossy foliage of Crescendo provide a perfect ensemble of beauty, elegance, and outstanding garden performance.

Each exquisite bloom slowly opens from a pointed ovoid bud, reaching a diameter of 4 to 5 inches and packed with up to 40 petals. They arise mostly singly and appear in flushes throughout the season, from spring to late fall.

This splendid hybrid tea is ideal for containers on the patio as well as growth in the rose garden or sunny border. It reaches a mature size of 5 to 6 feet and grows to around 3 feet wide.

The color is fresh and soft, the fragrance magnificent. Describing Crescendo, Pat Bullard, Nashville Music Garden founder, says "The fragrance is strong enough to fill a room from a single bloom and memorable enough to never be confused with any other rose."

It should be pruned in the spring, with the removal of old canes and dead wood. Cut back canes that cross each other. Gardeners in warmer climates will want to cut the remaining canes by one-third, while those in colder climates will probably need to trim it a bit more.

NOTE: Tree and patio roses are hardy to Zone 6 regardless of the rose variety grafted to their tops.

Top Performer

Crescendo is an awesome performer. It's got it all: abundant 6 inch blooms; wonderful, strong scent; vigorous bush with gorgeous large, glossy, dark green, disease resistant foliage and has weathered the brutal zone 6a winters in NE WA State with ease. And I love the color. I planted mine 3 years ago and it was just amazing this year. 4x4 and just covered in blooms. Who could ask for more?

Good product but not fragrant
This shopper rated the product 2 out of 5 stars

Ordered this earlier in 2025 from the quote on the fragrance. The plant arrived in fairly good condition and took to the pot after I planted them per the instruction. The plant itself is good quality. However, there is almost no fragrance from the flowers. Very disappointed

Beautiful! Planted this spring and has performed beyond expectations. 21blooms first year. Of course I really prepared the soil. It has the most magnificent scent. My personal favorite. Wonderful addition to my garden

Elegant rose

Simply beautiful! Subtle peachy pink petals form around a creamy bud. The fragrance is heavenly! I’m in zone 6b I started the root as advised and transferred to garden. After a month, they were not thriving and took them out of the ground. Repotted with organic soil and a little of the transplant fertilizer. They receive full sun and not a jot of mildew or pest bothers them. A I tire is worth all the words, see for yourself!
