Caryopteris (Bluebeard)

One of the truest blues in the garden

Caryopteris (Bluebeard), one of the few blue spirea that can brag of being a true blue. This shrub or woody perennial, known also informally as bluebeard or blue-mist, has a softly mounded growth habit that stays neatly contained and needs little maintenance. Drought tolerant and pest resistant, this late summer bloomer has blue-green to silvery-gray foliage and multitudes of flowers in shades of blue and purple. The elegant panicles of color are great for attracting butterflies and other beneficial garden insects.
