Candy Stripe Creeping Phlox Image

Candy Stripe Creeping Phlox

Stunning, multicolored blooms!

Tolerant of various climate extremes!

This Phlox variety is a great choice for use in the garden as a ground cover. It is a cold weather hardy plant that also resists drought. It is easy to grow and can bloom twice in one year. Butterflies and hummingbirds are very attracted to the flowers' nectar, and deer steer clear of these beautiful blooms.

This plant may reach up to 6 inches tall and up to 18 inches wide. It requires full sun to reach its potential, gradually spreading to form large colonies where it is content. 'Candy Stripe' can be cut back after the spring flowers disappear for a brilliant second rebloom in fall.

This perennial thrives in zones 2 through 9, even in less-than-perfect soil conditions. Sand or poorly fertile soil are no problem for 'Candy Stripe' as long as the drainage is good.

Creeping Phlox is a great choice as a beautiful flowering groundcover for large spaces as well as accents in border and foundation.
