Description

Dark, Dramatic Leaves

Black Scallop Bugleweed, an ajuga, is a unique ground cover. Noted for its dark foliage and deeply scalloped leaves, Black Scallop Bugleweed can effectively sprawl over any ground. The rich purple hue of the plant is paired with the ability to suppress weeds. On top of that, the plant grows quickly, allowing it to cover the desired area in an expedient manner. In milder climates, Black Scallop Bugleweed is evergreen, and it blooms in deep colors during the spring and early summer. The colors are best in full sun, and the plant does well in a variety of soils. It is a hearty choice for the garden, surviving with varying amounts of moisture. Overall, Black Scallop Bugleweed requires little maintenance and still looks stunning, making it an excellent choice.

Great, healthy plants!

This shopper rated the product 5 out of 5 stars

I was amazed to receive these whole, healthy plants in a box. Amazing packaging to keep these babies alive for the travel.I followed Jackson Perkins recommendations for planting. I put them in the ground and they look so happy. I look forward to them spreading in the coming months

A Carpeting Color Punch

This shopper rated the product 4 out of 5 stars

I was drawn to this groundcover for its purple foliage. I wasn't disappointed. In my garden, the purple foliage overwinters and makes a nice color addition to a usually lackluster season. It seems to not appreciate a combination of overhead crowding by other plants and a lot of humidity. Otherwise, A. reptans 'Black Scallop' is a rapid grower and a nice color punch to the year-round garden.
