April in Paris Hybrid Tea Rose

Description
Jackson & Perkins Rose of the Year 2008 | Intense Tea Rose Fragrance

This All-American Rose Selections award-winning hybrid of Pristine and New Zealand, a former Jackson & Perkins Rose of the Year, exhibits painterly blooms, nicely petaled and softly hued in shades of cream and pink. Produced in flushes throughout the season, pointed, ovoid buds spiral into 4- to 5-inch blooms on sturdy, generous stems, well-suited for cutting. The flowers emit an intense tea rose fragrance and last and last in the garden or vase.

Growing to 5 feet in height and 4 feet in width, this rose bush is a dazzling showpiece in the garden, the pale blooms set off by the dark green foliage. The plant thrives with medium moisture and slightly acidic, well-drained loam in full sun. Make sure the plant has good air circulation, which promotes vigorous and healthy growth as well as helps prevent disease. A layer of mulch during the summer months helps to retain moisture, keep roots cool, and discourages weed growth.

Pruning is required in the spring, trimming the shrub to half its height or about 18 inches off the ground. Old canes and dead wood should be removed and canes that cross each other should be cut. In warmer climates, the remaining canes should be cut by one-third. More trimming is required in colder climates.

Now half of a red shrub rose
This shopper rated the product 5 out of 5 stars

The first year this was beautiful. The second year only a few blooms. This year (3rd) the plant is half April in Paris and half red shrub rose. Not great quality.

Long lasting, fragrant cut rose!!!
This shopper rated the product 4 out of 5 stars

I was given a cutting with 3 roses by a dear friend. It was so delightfully fragrant and the delicate pink blossoms remained in pristine condition for a full week. I was so impressed I will be adding an April in Paris rose to my garden next spring!

elegnant rose
This shopper rated the product 4 out of 5 stars

April in Paris is a very elegnant rose, but i have found it does not like full sun, the delicate petals will burn as the sun heats up for the summer. I have moved it in the back of my yard where there is slight tree coverage. The flowers are a beautiful clear pink, high center large bloom. This rose is winter hardy with very little dieback, i didnot have to trim it after it broke dormancy. Iam waiting for my bush to mature, last year it did ok, but didnt really bloom as expected, im hoping it will this year. The flowers last on the cane and in the vase, wonderful strong scent.
