Jackson & Perkins Unveils 2026 Rose Introductions

The new roses celebrate heritage, beauty, and innovation

EDINA, MN (Oct 2025) — Jackson & Perkins®, America's premier rose breeder and grower, announces its 2026 rose introductions, a collection that celebrates heritage, beauty, and modern performance. This year's lineup features new releases from the renowned Jackson & Perkins breeding program, limited-edition Vault varieties, rare global finds, and time-honored Old Garden Roses dating back as far as 1891.

"Year after year, we honor the artistry and legacy of rose breeding while continuing to innovate for the modern gardener," said Kelly Funk, president and CEO of Jackson & Perkins. "Our 2026 introductions are a reflection of that legacy: roses with story, soul, and staying power."

Here are a few of the new offerings for the 2026 Library of Roses:

New Exclusive: Ruffled Romance™

The star of the 2026 collection, Ruffled Romance™, is the final rose bred by legendary hybridizer Dr. Keith Zary for Jackson & Perkins. This stunning floribunda begins in shades of golden yellow and apricot, maturing into soft pink as it unfolds. With moderate fragrance, strong disease resistance, and large 4" blooms, Ruffled Romance™ delivers a new story with every season.

Vault Collection: Time-Honored Classics

The 2026 Vault Collection reopens with a selection of limited-edition, cherished historic hybrids:

  • Billy Graham, a hybrid tea rose prized for its large 5" blooms, is perfect for cutting and floral design.
  • Fragrant Memory, first introduced by J&P in 1974, is known for its classic rose scent and form.

Roses from Around the World

This collection celebrates the artistry of rose breeding with selections sourced from around the globe:

  • Flash Gordon, a floribunda with large, 5" golden blooms and vigorous 5' habit. Bonus: attracts pollinators.
  • Sealed with a Kiss, a hybrid tea with nearly black, velvety buds and impressive disease tolerance.

Old Garden Rose Collection

For the traditionalist, the 2026 Old Garden Rose lineup revives the romance of pre-1900s roses:

  • Lady Hillingdon, a tea rose with deep apricot-yellow buds, purple new shoots, and a sweet fragrance. Excellent for cutting and ideal for beginners.
  • Lamarque, a climbing rose with pale yellow rosettes and a gentle lemon fragrance. Grows 12'.
  • Monsieur Tillier, a beloved tea rose from 1891, whose large, dahlia-like blooms are salmon, carmine, or orange depending on the weather.

Cold-Hardy Roses

Gardeners in cooler climates will welcome the Cold Hardy Roses collections, bred to thrive in Zones 2–4 without sacrificing beauty. Highlights include:

  • AC Navy Lady, a compact, Zone 3 shrub rose with nearly black buds and velvety red blooms.
  • J.P. Connell, a Zone 2 hardy shrub rose with thornless stems and continuous yellow blooms all summer.

For over 150 years, Jackson & Perkins has defined rose gardening through innovation, beauty, and passion for excellence. From pioneering the floribunda class to introducing iconic collaborations, the company continues to lead in breeding roses that blend heritage with modern performance.

"The 2026 Library of Roses embodies what makes our brand timeless: craftsmanship, legacy, and love for the garden," said Funk. "Every rose tells a story, and we're honored to share these new chapters with gardeners everywhere."
