Healthy, nice color

I have grown this rose since 2006, zone 6b-7. Temps are 100F in summer, -10F in winter. This is the healthiest of 35 or so roses in the yard, even though it is not in the best sunny spot. The leaves are glossy medium green, always free of blackspot and powdery mildew that sometimes gets on other roses. It carries a few blooms all season and flushes 3-4 times here. It grows to more than 6ft by 3ft wide. Quite thorny, not dangerously so.

Very hardy, healthy foliage, beautiful blooms

I have had this rose since 2006 and it is a dandy. I prune all 35 of my roses in late fall to keep canes from breaking in ice and snow, no other protection except for additional compost for winter. HC grows to 6ft by 3ft, so it gets pruned to about 3ft, then spring pruning is basic. Foliage is shiny bright green, disease-free and carefree. No six-legged pests except for cutter bees. As others have noted, it is very thorny. Spring flush is great, it carries some blooms the rest of the summer, and has 2 or 3 small flushes before first freeze. Look this rose up on HMF Roses.

Very hardy and prolific bloomer in the heat and humidity of Middle GA. Easy to grow. Thorny.

I went crazy when I first saw this rose a few years ago in their catalog and it has never failed to attract attention. The scent is strong and delightful. I missed by one year getting the tree rose, but this year they finally repeated the tree rose and I bought it.
