Description
A curated collection of four distinguished calla lily varieties

This Calla Collection features four esteemed and vividly colored calla lily varieties: 'Flame', 'Lavender Sensation', 'Majestic Red', and 'Passion Fruit'. Each variety is individually packaged and labeled, with five bulbs per variety, allowing for a total of 20 bulbs. These plants reach a mature height of approximately 10 to 24 inches, showcasing lush, large, sword- to arrow-shaped foliage that provides an elegant backdrop to the chalice-shaped flowers. Highly favored by florists, the 2- to 3-inch blooms are long-lasting, making them exquisite additions to summer bouquets and mixed floral arrangements.

Calla Collection bulbs are Zantedeschia spp. varieties, commonly known as calla lilies. Native to South Africa, these plants are tender perennials in Zones 8-10 but are often cultivated as annuals or houseplants in cooler regions. They thrive equally well in gardens or containers, whether outdoors or indoors, with three bulbs typically filling a 10- to 12-inch pot. Calla lilies serve as excellent specimen plants and are particularly striking when massed or grouped in beds and borders.

Calla lilies are virtually trouble-free and easy to cultivate. They flourish best in sunny locations but can tolerate partial shade, especially in hot summer climates where full morning sun and afternoon shade may be preferable. While adaptable to various soil types, they prefer loose, organically rich, moisture-retentive, well-drained soil. Plant these calla lily bulbs in spring after the threat of frost has passed, spacing them 12 to 24 inches apart and 4 inches deep, with the 'eyes' or growing points facing upwards. Regular watering and feeding during the growing season will promote optimal growth.

Calla bulbs are primarily summer hardy. In Zone 7, they may overwinter if heavily mulched; however, in areas experiencing winter frost, it is advisable to dig them up in fall or treat them as annuals.
