Description
The first ever dark-leafed weigela with repeat flowering

A Proven Winners® ColorChoice® Flowering Shrubs variety, and member of the Sonic Bloom series, Weigela Sonic Bloom Wine™ is a deciduous shrub offering spring through fall interest, blooming in spring and reblooming in late summer into fall. This dense and bushy plant is free flowering and creates a wonderful contrast of large tubular bubblegum-pink blooms set against a backdrop of handsome deep purple foliage. Flowers sometimes surprise with a starry hot-pink marking but always attract pollinators to the garden, including bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds.

An excellent landscape plant, Sonic Bloom Wine has a rapid growth rate and a freely branching, compact, upright, and mounded habit. It is an excellent specimen in garden or container but is shown to best effect when grouped or massed and is especially nice in the front of mixed beds and borders.

Cold hardy to Zone 4 and easy to grow, weigela grows best in sunny locations with moderately fertile, moist, well-draining soil but tolerates clay soil. Deer resistant.
