A Proven Winners® ColorChoice® Flowering Shrubs variety, Rhododendron Perfecto Mundo® Fuchsia Carpet™ is a low-growing evergreen ground cover that blooms on old wood in spring, and later, after a brief rest, it blooms on new wood in late summer, continuing until first frost. Masses of bright fuchsia blooms attract pollinators, including bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds, and pop against the healthy green foliage, which offers appealing texture and pretty color in between the blooms.
A Rhododendron hybrid, commonly called azalea, Fuchsia Carpet has a tidy, mounding habit. It makes an excellent specimen or container plant but is shown to best effect when grouped or massed in mixed beds, borders, and foundation plantings.
Easy care, azalea grows best in sunny to dappled sun locations with cool, moist, acid soils high in organic matter. A light pruning after the spring bloom will encourage new growth and heavier rebloom. Fuchsia Carpet is heat tolerant and disease resistant.
