Description
A rare and elegant color for a buttercup

Plant Ranunculus Double Cappuccino buttercup bulbs in the fall before the first frost, and by early summer, enjoy their elegant multicolored blooms. These flowers, with their intricate layers of sheer, papery petals, resemble peonies, forming tightly packed rosettes that display subtle hints of a pink picotee. Rising to a height of 16 inches on sturdy stems above finely cut leaves, the dreamy blooms of Cappuccino buttercups add a soft, romantic touch to bunch bouquets and mixed floral displays featuring anemones, lilies, tulips, and roses.

Cappuccino, a variety of Ranunculus asiaticus commonly known as buttercup or Persian buttercup, is a tuberous perennial with an upright habit. These buttercups are particularly striking when clustered or grouped in garden beds and borders, but they also thrive in containers and patio pots, making them a must-have for any cutting garden.

Easy to grow, Cappuccino buttercups thrive in USDA Zones 8 through 10. In colder regions, they can be grown as annuals or the bulbs can be pulled, overwintered, and replanted the following spring. To plant, space the Cappuccino buttercup bulbs 4 inches apart and 3 inches deep with the root claws pointing down. For best results, soak the corms in lukewarm water overnight before planting. Place the buttercups in a sunny to partly shady area with medium moist, well-draining soil. Water well to settle the bulbs, and feed with a balanced fertilizer. After blooming, remove faded flowers promptly, but allow the foliage to die back naturally before removing it. This process nourishes the bulbs for future growth and blooming. Ranunculus Double Cappuccino is also deer resistant, making it a reliable and beautiful addition to your garden.
