Description
A Southern Favorite for Its Ease of Care and Disease Resistance and It's Cold Hardy Too

The Peggy Martin Climbing Rose is a testament to strength and beauty, earning its place as one of the most resilient and easy-care climbing roses available today. Known as a "found rose" with an incredible survival story, Peggy Martin was discovered in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana, and famously withstood the devastating aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, surviving two weeks of saltwater submersion. This remarkable toughness, combined with its dazzling pink blooms and nearly thornless canes, makes it a stunning addition to your garden.

A vigorous climber, Peggy Martin forms a multi-stemmed woody vine with strong, twining canes that can reach 6 to 15 feet high and wide, making a striking vertical display. Peggy Martin Climbing Rose blooms in early spring with massive clusters of deep pink flowers, each measuring 2 to 3 inches across and filled with 16 to 25 petals. While the blooms carry a light, pleasant fragrance, their true charm lies in their cascading and abundant display. Though not a continuous bloomer, Peggy Martin often delights gardeners with a second flush of flowers in fall, extending its seasonal interest. The blooms also make excellent cut flowers, perfect for adding a touch of garden charm to indoor arrangements.

Among the easiest climbing roses to grow, Peggy Martin is a low-maintenance choice that needs minimal care. It is exceptionally cold-hardy, highly resistant to pests and disease, and tolerant of a variety of growing conditions, so it's an excellent option for beginners and experienced gardeners. With its vigorous growth habit and natural resilience, this rose requires little intervention to flourish reliably each growing season.

Peggy Martin is versatile. It can be trained to climb trellises, poles, arches, and pillars or used to soften fences and walls with its free-flowing display of romantic pink roses. Left untrained, Peggy Martin Climbing Rose forms a beautiful fountain of blooms that create a lovely ground cover effect. For best results, prune in late winter after the threat of frost has passed, shaping the canes to encourage healthy growth and maximum flowering. Peggy Martin delivers unmatched resilience, effortless growth, and a stunning seasonal show.

Bloomer !
This shopper rated the product 5 out of 5 stars

I bought my PMCR in 2021 . It didn’t bloom until 2024 because the deer kept foraging on it !! It got stunted due to constant loss of leaves and eaten branches . But my PMCR is a fighter , it grew branches and leaves last Spring 2024 and bloomed profusely !! I was able to take pictures and videos of its beauty until one night the deer ate the leaves and flowers and branches again .. My PMCR is still alive and the deers continue to love it .

I bought a Peggy Martin rose for my best friends mother. I purchased it in February and it was supposed to ship at the right time for planting in zone 7b. It arrived in May and it was dead... I called Jackson and Perkins and I did get a refund. I've just ordered it again for fall delivery. I'm really hoping that this one arrives in great shape. I have this rose in my yard and it is quite lovely!
