From the famous Cant's in Colchester, England, comes a rose that took Europe by storm upon its 1972 introduction. The winner of numerous awards (including World's Favorite Rose in 1994), this splendid, extremely popular hybrid tea combines huge flower size, distinctive color, strong fragrance, compact plant habit, and tireless bloom strength.
Very free-flowering throughout the growing season, Just Joey sets elegantly pointed buds that spiral open to large and dramatic high-centered blooms with 25 to 30 attractively waved petals of a coppery apricot that softens slightly toward the gently ruffled edges. Measuring up to 6 inches across and set against a backdrop of glossy, mahogany-tinted foliage, they are ideal for garden or vase, keeping both their color and rich, fruity fragrance well over time.
Just Joey hybrid tea is a small to medium-sized bush with a rounded habit, growing 3 to 4 feet tall and wide. It's an ideal bed or middle of the border plant for small-space gardens, but it can also be grown in a pretty patio pot. Just Joey is a must-have for a cutting garden.
Just Joey was bred by Roger Pawsey from Fragrant Cloud x Dr. A. J. Verhage. It demonstrates excellent heat tolerance, extending into Zone 10 where few roses can be successful.
