Each satiny white bloom is 6 to 7 inches across with a yellow center and bronze stamens. Individual petals are washed with a creamy highlight. Henryi Clematis grows best in rich, slightly alkaline, soil and like to have a little extra room to spread out its roots. Keep clematis' feet cool with a good mulch or a ground cover that won't compete at root level. Henryi Clematis is a group 2 pruning clematis. In early spring, cut back 6 to 8 inches, leaving a strong pair of leaf buds at the end of each vine.
