Espoma Organic Garden Gypsum is a natural mineral soil amendment designed to improve soil structure and support healthy root development. Especially useful for loosening heavy clay soils, it helps create better air and water movement so roots can grow more freely and plants can establish more effectively. This 100 percent pure, pelletized formula is easy to apply and contains no sludges or fillers, providing consistent, dependable results in the garden.

Garden Gypsum can be used across a wide range of planting areas including vegetable gardens, ornamental beds, fruit plantings, and lawns. It also helps reduce the effects of winter ice melters and can be used to address pet urine spots in turf areas. Apply any time during the growing season when soil is workable, avoiding frozen ground. For garden beds, incorporate 6 pounds per 30 square feet into the top 6 inches of soil. For shrubs, apply 3 pounds per plant, and for flowers, use 1 pound per plant. Lawns benefit from 36 pounds per 1000 square feet, with higher rates recommended for heavy clay soils.
