Dicentra 'Gold Heart' Bleeding Heart

Dicentra 'Gold Heart' is a stunning golden-leaved variety of the beloved bleeding heart, forming a loose, graceful clump that grows 18 to 24 inches tall. Blooming in mid to late spring, typically April through May, this standout plant showcases delicate, arching sprays of heart-shaped, rosy-pink and white flowers above fern-like chartreuse foliage. A variety of Lamprocapnos spectabilis, commonly called bleeding heart, 'Gold Heart' is a hardy perennial suitable for Zones 3-9. Its foliage naturally dies back in summer, so pair it with hostas, ferns, or geraniums to maintain visual interest as the season progresses.

'Gold Heart' grows best in partially to fully shady locations with loose, rich, well-drained soil that retains consistent moisture.
