Diamantina™ Clematis

Description
So much texture and dimension.

Eye-popping color!

Clematis Diamantina's remarkable beauty translated into major honors at the 2010 Chelsea Flower Show. This Clematis is a double-flowered stunner, overflowing with 6 inch wide blossoms in late spring. These flowers are packed with layers of fluffy petals in dramatic blue and purple hues. The petals surround central pompoms that are often striped in a pale lilac color. The blossoms retain color for an amazing four weeks! Later, in summer and fall, the plant will bloom again with less vigor. Developed by Raymond Evison, Diamantina is a climber, but it is fairly compact. It reaches just 5 feet tall and 2.5 wide, and can be even smaller when grown in a container. Plant this Clematis in broad sunlight and give it a couple seasons to establish itself.
