Delphinium Delgenius™ Neva Larkspur

After more than a decade in the making we're proud to introduce the Delgenius™ Neva, a member of the Delphinium Delgenius™ series. This perennial plant blooms freely and continuously, producing a multitude of stems topped with large, creamy white double blooms. These stunning flowers not only create a romantic ambiance in your garden but also attract bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds, making your garden a lively pollinator sanctuary. The Neva's blooms also make excellent additions to bouquets and arrangements.

As a variety of Delphinium x hybridus, commonly known as candle larkspur or delphinium, the Neva is an herbaceous perennial with a compact, upright growth habit. Its dark green foliage is heavily lobed, contributing to its fast growth rate. While it thrives in containers, the Neva truly shines when grouped or massed in mixed beds and borders.

The Delphinium Neva flourishes in locations with full sun to part shade and requires moist, well-draining, fertile, loamy humus soils with a slightly acidic pH of 5.4 to 5.5. A pH higher than 6.0 may result in fewer blooms. Despite being bred for heat tolerance and strong stems, the Neva may benefit from some afternoon shade in warmer climates and protection from strong winds. As a heavy feeder, it requires higher phosphate rates than most perennials for optimal performance. Weekly feeding during growth and flowering with low concentrations of a slow-release fertilizer is recommended. Once established, deadhead spent flower spikes to encourage reblooming. The Neva is also deer resistant.
