Dahlia 'Orange Impact' Bulbs

'Orange Impact' is an extraordinary fimbriata dahlia renowned for its impressive height and vibrant blooms. Typically growing 27 to 48 inches tall, this showstopper can soar to an astonishing 62 inches in ideal conditions. From summer through mid-fall, this variety produces an abundance of fringed, double flowers with fiery orange petals that cascade in layers of texture and energy. Supported by strong, sturdy stems, the blooms shine in the garden or in arrangements—and the more you cut, the more it rewards you with fresh blossoms. Harvest blooms just as they near full opening for best results.

A hybrid between Decorative and Semi Cactus dahlias, 'Orange Impact' is a tender perennial (Zones 8-11) with an upright, clump-forming habit. For added stability, stake or cage this commanding plant to keep it looking its best throughout the growing season.

This dahlia thrives in sunny locations with rich, well-draining soil that retains enough moisture for healthy roots. To improve heavy clay or sandy soils, amend with organic matter such as peat moss or ground bark. Plant tubers in warm spring soil after frost has passed, spacing them 18 to 24 inches apart and planting 3 inches deep. Water thoroughly at planting and continue regular watering during active growth. Pinch back stems at 8 to 10 inches tall, prune taller growth, and apply mulch to maintain soil moisture and coolness. NOTE: In Zones 3-7, lift and store tubers before frost in dry peat moss or vermiculite at 50°F. Alternatively, grow as an annual to enjoy its brilliant blooms in any garden setting.
