Description
Blooming on old and new wood, this compact large-flowered clematis vine is fully covered in flowers when mature

Clematis Boulevard® Poseidon™ is a perennial large-flowered clematis that brings a bright splash of color to the garden from early summer to early fall. This plant is known for its abundant blooms and extended flowering period, showcasing a profusion of full flowers with pointed petals and burgundy-tipped anthers. The 4- to 5-inch flowers exhibit a stunning color palette, including soft pink to vibrant hot pink hues. These blooms appear on both old and new wood, ensuring the vine is beautifully adorned with flowers when mature.

Clematis Boulevard Poseidon is a multistemmed, deciduous, woody climbing vine with a compact, twining, and trailing growth habit. It reaches a mature height of 3 to 4 feet, with its green foliage maintaining its freshness throughout the season. This plant follows the old adage of clematis growth: the first year they sleep, the second year they creep, and the third year they leap. Train this clematis to climb a trellis, arbor, post, or fence for a vertical garden feature. Alternatively, let it wander along the ground, weaving its way through your shrubbery. For a truly spectacular display, pair it with a climbing rose. The clematis will intertwine with the rose stalks, creating a stunning blend of blooms in the early season, with the clematis continuing to bloom through the summer heat and the rose resuming in the cooler temperatures of fall as the clematis blooms fade.

Clematis is easy to grow and maintain, preferring average, well-drained soil and a mix of full sun to part shade. Remember the clematis planting mantra: feet in the shade, head in the sun. Position the plant so the leaves receive ample sunshine (around 6 hours), but the roots are shaded and cool, either by low-growing, evergreen shrubs or heavy mulch. Good drainage is crucial and overly wet locations should be avoided. Protect your plant from strong winds but ensure good air circulation.

Pruning can be done as a type 2 or 3.

Product came well packaged. Soil plant pot all intact. Plant received in bloom with several long leads. The color stands out amongst the leaves and blooms are large. The color is as pictured but with depth. I have a very small space outside my apartment and it will be stunning there. Also will attract the northern hummingbirds.
