Anemone Darkest Blue Windflower Bulbs

Plant Anemone Darkest Blue windflower bulbs in the fall before the first frost, and by early summer, your garden will be graced with compact plants bearing finely cut foliage and an abundance of large, poppy-like blue blooms. While anemones aren't too fussy about soil, they grow best in medium moist soil with a slightly acidic pH. The key is ensuring the soil drains freely, as waterlogged conditions can cause the bulbs to rot. To give these lovely bulbs a head start, soak them in lukewarm water overnight before planting. Plant Darkest Blue anemone bulbs 3 to 6 inches apart and 2 to 3 inches deep. For a dramatic sweep of blooms, plant about 16 bulbs per square foot. Windflowers are also deer resistant, making them a low-maintenance addition to your garden.
