Description

A true color breakthrough for Rudbeckia

A member of the Echibeckia™ Summerina Glow™ series, a true cross of 2 genera—Echinacea purpurpea x Rudbeckia hirta— Echibeckia™ Summerina Glow<™ Dizz looks like a rudbeckia but has the vigor of an echinacea.

Long- and heavy-blooming, Dizz flowers from early summer through late fall in small daisylike flowers. The blossoms emerge pale peach with a deep red center and dark brown cone. As the flowers age, they become suffused with cherry and eventually turn almost solid red, giving the plant a gorgeous multicolored appearance. And each flower lasts an extraordinarily long time—up to 10 weeks! Borne singly on sturdy, dark stems, the large, kaleidoscopic blooms make stunning, polychromatic cut bouquets.

Echibeckia Dizz has a very compact, upright to somewhat outwardly spreading and mounded habit and a moderate growth rate. The plant has a dense and bushy appearance and makes an excellent specimen or container plant but is shown to best effect when massed in mixed beds, borders, and foundation plantings.

Easy to grow and low maintenance, Dizz grows best in a sunny location with organically rich, moist, well-draining soil but adapts to a wide range of soils. Dizz is also disease resistant.
