Description

Attracts Butterflies, Bees, and Hummingbirds

Lupines are highly popular native perennials, blooming year after year, but this one is better than ever with a bold new color scheme. Free flowering, it flaunts towering spires thick with bicolored—dusty periwinkle blue and white—blooms rising above a mound of lush, bright green, daisy-esque foliage. The sturdy flower spikes make stunning additions to cut arrangements. And although the blooms are long lasting, deadheading encourages reblooms and extends the bloom time, as well as the parade of butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds.

Hardy, easy to grow, and vigorous, the plant has an upright habit and reaches 24 to 36 inches tall at maturity. It prefers locations in full sun to dappled shade with slightly acidic, average to dry, well-drained soil. Perfect for cutting and pollinator gardens, it also makes an excellent "thriller" in a "filler-thriller-spiller" container.
