This diminutive butterfly bush is cute as a button.
This Lo & Behold® 'Blue Chip Jr.' Buddleia is even smaller, less brittle, and holds more silvery sheen in its foliage than even its full-size 'Blue Chip' parent. Its compact size does not diminish its radiant beauty, nor make it any less attractive to colorful visitors like butterflies and hummingbirds.
The Lo & Behold® series is already well-known for its hearty butterfly bushes introduced by Raulston Arboretum. This one is no exception to a well-deserved and glowing reputation. It is known for flowering continuously all summer long rather than in waves, requiring no maintenance or deadheading to keep the colorful show going. Its lovely deep blue blooms make eye-catching ground cover, and it also flourishes well in container gardens.
At a compact 20 inches high and wide, 'Blue Chip Jr.' begins its blooming in early summer and continues until the first frost. Unlike its predecessors, it will no send out sprouts of seeds, making it less invasive and high-performing.
'Blue Chip Jr.' loves full sunshine and well-drained soil. After becoming established, it is tolerant of heat, humidity, poor soil, and drought.
This variety of Buddleia has been approved as a seedless butterfly bush cultivar and is considered sterile, producing less than two percent viable seeds, so it will not spread. It is approved for sale in all states without restriction. https://www.oregon.gov/ODA/programs/NurseryChristmasTree/Pages/ButterflyBush.aspx
