Lace Cascade Climbing Rose

Description

Disease-Resistant, Vigorous, and Eager to Rebloom

A white climbing rose decorating an arbor, threading through a fence, or covering a pergola is one of the building-blocks of a delightful garden. Complementing every nearby color, it serves as a fresh clean canvas through which to grow a clematis, a colored rose, or other vines and climbers. And when that white rose is Lace Cascade, the display is so gorgeous you may not want to do a thing but stand back and admire.

Descended from the super-hardy, disease-resistant favorite Iceberg and the quick-growing Prairie Fire, Lace Cascade comes by its vigor, frequent and heavy rebloom, and exquisite floribunda flower form honestly. It was bred right here at Jackson & Perkins by master rosarian Bill Warriner, and released in 1993. It became an instant success and has been a mainstay of many a fine rose garden ever since.

These whorled, high-centered, fully double blooms sport about 20 petals each, and release a moderate, sweet scent that lingers in the summer air. Self-cleaning, they appear in great waves beginning in earliest summer and continuing well into fall in most climates. This is a very heavy-blooming rose, generous with its sprays of nicely rounded, exquisitely formed flowers on long stems.

And Lace Cascade is prepared to climb skyward from the very first season. Expect it to reach 10 to 12 feet long and 3 to 4 feet wide, with glossy green foliage that stays healthy even in humid and rainy climates. It's ideal for larger trellises as well as for arbors, pergolas, fences, and other sturdy supports. Consider it a must-have in the sunny garden, and make it the foundation of your "vertical" landscape.
