Beautiful Watermelon Red Daylily
John Bales from AR wrote on August 14, 2014

This is my first year growing 'Earlybird Cardinal' daylily and it's already my favorite of all the daylilies I grow. A beautiful watermelon red, it catches they eye from a distance when coming up the driveway. I actually plan to move around some of my other daylilies this fall in order to open up more space for additional clumps of 'Earlybird Cardinal'. Even in its first year, it's bloomed well already and is filling out. I highly recommend this cultivar if you love red daylilies!

Daylily

If you want to see photos of the daylilies I purchased from you around 1986, the Robert Griesbach "Song Bird" series, plus "Cookie Monster," go to my Facebook page, photo album "Non-railroad" photos, and you'll see them, including "Cookie Monster," with a teeny frog resting inside it's bloom. These were purchased when I lived in Milford, MI and in 2006, I retired and moved to Flushing, MI. They were transplanted and went bonkers! Guess they love the clay soil!
