Very Impressed
Sherry Roma from FL wrote on March 25, 2020

Wow! I'm impressed and a little overwhelmed to say nothing of surprised! Today I received my first order from Jackson & Perkins for two red Kordes roses - Florentina CL and Desmond Tutu. I thought they were going to be little 2-qt things but they are these huge bareroots. I'm pretty unfamiliar with bareroots since I always buy potted. These are going to need a DEEP hole! Florentina definitely says it's ownroot, but Tutu says nothing either way. I don't see a graft so I'm assuming it's ownroot, too. I love Kordes roses! Absolutely impeccable disease resistance in hot humid Central Florida and very undemanding. I don't even water or feed the three I have - for years, but they are in a very well amended bed. Now I just have to buy a trellis for Florentina and install it. I'm really excited!

Beautiful Red Rose Just Like Pictures
Louis Hernandez, Jr. from NM wrote on November 05, 2018

Received 2 qt bush about 3 yrs ago. Planted in composted soil and added manure (not too much). Fertilize in spring w/systemic rose food and add fresh bark. My plant has grown more beautiful each season and prolific. Blooms are just like those in pictures and have a light fragrance. Bushes are small so best planted on the outside of a large rose garden which is what I have. Wish I could plant more!

Vigorous, healthy, heat loving red rose
HTaustinTx from TX wrote on August 12, 2018

Vigorous, healthy, green growth that produces plentiful red blooms in hot summers even with over 30 days of 100+F degrees. Some light fragrance. A classic red color that will darken in full sun. It tolerates some shade. A good rose for central and coastal Texas (zones 8b and 9).

Beautiful rose, doing just fine in the south!
Suz1 from GA wrote on August 07, 2018

I planted this rose last fall (2017) and it is now (in August 2018) doing very well. It blooms prolifically and doesn't have much black spot (although it has a little, but not enough to defoliate the rose). The bloom color on this rose is a gorgeous read and the buds have a lovely shape with many petals. I would buy more of these roses if I were looking for a compact size rose.

This is a lovely dark red. It began to bloom several weeks after planting. I bought the whole plant. None of the bare root roses I have bought have ever survived,
