Vintage Gatehouse Bird House

Our new Vintage Gatehouse Bird House is a wonderful (and whimsical!) addition to your backyard or garden, as well as being an inviting home for a wide variety of birds. Built from solid, rot-resistant cypress, crowned with a sturdy, steeply pitched roof of multicolored shingles, each of these beautiful bird houses is durable enough to last for many, many years.

The Vintage Gatehouse has an appealing weathered look that will only increase over time, as the wood takes on a genuine aged appearance. Each bird house is also hand-crafted, so you can be assured that no two are going to be exactly alike! Proving as practical as it is attractive, this bird house has ventilation gaps that help regulate the internal temperature, a drainage slot in the base that allows water to empty from the nest box, long-lasting and attractive copper accents on the roof, and a convenient rear panel to make monitoring and cleaning of the nest easy.

The Vintage Gatehouse also has several features that the birds will like quite as much as you do: the 1 ½" entrance hole is designed to mimic a natural tree cavity; the house itself is rather deep, which helps protect nestlings from predators; and the roof extends over the house to keep their home dry.

This beautiful bird house is easy to mount on a post (not included), using the included mounting bracket and screws. Pick a place in your yard where your birds will feel safe, but preferably also where you can easily watch the comings and goings of your feathered friends! And there are numerous types of birds that are likely to take notice of this unique house; the entrance hole is appropriate for Eastern Bluebirds, Chickadees, Crested Flycatchers, Red-breasted Nuthatches, White-breasted Nuthatches, Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers, Tree Swallows, Violet-green Swallows, Tufted Titmice, Downy Woodpeckers, Hairy Woodpeckers, Bewick's Wrens, Carolina Wrens, and House Wrens, among others.
