Direct sunlight (65-75°F). Blooms will last longer if it’s moved to a cool spot (55-65°F) at night. Turn regularly to keep stems from leaning toward the light source.
Remove packing material on top of the container, and add water until soil is moist. Keep the soil moist but not soggy. Waxed Amaryllis bulbs do not require water, and have everything they need to grow right inside the wax coating.
After the blooms have faded, cut the stalk off 1-2” above the bulb. The leaves will continue to grow and nourish the bulb. Continue watering, and apply fertilizer occasionally. In the fall or when leaves start to wither, stop watering, remove old leaves, and store at 45 -55°F. 6-8 weeks before blooms are desired, return to room temperature and begin watering — lightly, until growth is observed, then keeping soil moist. Waxed Amaryllis bulb will not rebloom after the holidays, and cannot be replanted due to the wax coating.
