Vigorous, Heavy-bearing, and Beautiful in Autumn!

The best red table grape is also one of the most beautiful vines you can grow! Flame is a seedless red grape with heavy yields on super fast-growing, vigorous woody plants. The fall foliage is spectacular, and the flavor of these rosy-red globes is scrumptious!

The show begins in spring, when masses of tiny white blooms appear all over this super fast-growing vine. They last only a week or two, quickly followed by bunches of fruit that ripens in summer to early fall. The tight-skinned grapes are small, round, and very juicy, with a rich aroma and fabulous flavor. Best of all, they're seedless!

The fruit is flanked by very large, showy foliage of soft gray-green in spring and summer. When the cold weather of fall arrives, the leaves begin turning brilliant shades of yellow, orange, red, copper, and bronze -- an incredible show of color that continues for weeks! This adds an entire season of beauty to Flame's display, and makes this vine suitable for ornamental use as well as culinary.

Because it grows so quickly -- adding 20 feet a season! -- Flame is easy to espalier or train up a trellis, pergola, or other structure. It does need an annual prune to maintain its fruit production, however. In late winter, remove at least 50% of the previous year's growth, cutting it to a foot from the ground if you wish to restrain its size still further. This will stimulate healthy new growth and greater vigor than ever!

Flame thrives in full sunshine and normal loamy to sandy soils. It will grow and bear for decades in full sun (at least 8 hours a day) and well-enriched soil. Make it an integral part of your sunny garden this season, and create a legacy of delicious eating and beautiful landscaping! Zones 6-9.
